For a while now I've been corresponding with Winifred Hodge Rose, a Heathen priestess, scholar, and spaewife who's put a monumental amount of work into the traditional Heathen concepts of the multiple souls. (You can find many of her writings on the subject online at heathensoullore.net.) Her first published book on the subject, Heathen Soul Lore Foundations, is now in print. It's comprehensive, thoroughly documented, illustrated, and surprisingly readable; as a sympathetic outsider to Heathenry with only a modest background in the original sources, I found it relatively easy going.
Interested? You can find links to the various formats, from ebook to color-illustrated hardback, here. (Scroll down a bit to the links.)
Thanks!

PS: You suggested over the years that the study of language, including “extinct” language, provides perspectives on a culture unavailable otherwise. I started lightly studying Old Norse several weeks ago, and while fluent is not on my radar, it seems just getting a sense of the grammar and building my vocabulary is opening doors, ever so slightly, that would remain closed otherwise.
