It's time for Magic Monday again, my intermittent open post on occult theory and practice -- so ask me anything about occultism and I'll do my best to answer it. Any question received by midnight tonight Eastern time will get an answer, though it may be Tuesday sometime before I get to them all.

    Thanks for hosting this again! I'm right smack dab in the middle of my Saturn Return. Life feels empty and I don't know know who I really am. Recently, I've started doing the SoP, and doing the meditation and divination routine you suggested on Well of Galabes.

    Is there general advice you have you someone who is going through a Saturn return? Things that could help make this transit easier? Little spells or things to keep in mind? Any thoughts most appreciated!

    Face your issues. That's what a Saturn return is all about, and the sooner you suck it up and confront the things Saturn wants you to confront, the easier it'll be. You may be able to get some advice by paying attention to aspects to Saturn in your natal chart, or other aspects Saturn is making to outer planets in the heavens at the time of your return -- but it really is a matter of gritting your teeth and doing what you have to do.

    Thank you for this. It's a bit overwhelming; Saturn is aspected with every planet, including the ascendent, in my natal chart! That being said I feel strangely fond towards Saturn, that is I try to embrace my limitations as I understand that all the ways I'm limited are conversely sources of great strength. Doing some cursory research shows much truth in the ways that I'm specifically limited by Saturn. I can acknowledge the painful issues in my life, and knowing those, work to transmute them. The prima materia is associated with Saturn, of course. What other substance do I have to transmute into gold, besides these things I have thrown out into the street and cast on to the dung-hill!

    Well, walking with my sister today I found a beautiful squirrel that I dressed to make soup with later and an unopened bottle of beer which is a nice microbrew lager. I lift it now in a toast to gritting my teeth and confronting my issues!

    If Saturn's that strongly connected in your chart, it's a very good idea to develop a good relationship with Saturnine energies!
