When doing discursive meditation on images, is it bad practice to peek back at the image? I've been doing discursive meditation on the Thoth tarot, but my visual memory isn't that great, and I do a lot of pre-processing before starting to memorize what is where. I wonder whether that's how to do it plus repeat or if I'm making things unnecessarily hard by not looking while I meditate.
