Toward Ecosophy

First of all, you'd need at least one person who had extensive experience in an existing initiatory current -- not just an initiate, but someone who had conferred initiations many times, and so understands how the process works from both sides. You'd need to identify the specific spiritual powers that the initiatory current works with, and do extensive workings to build the astral and etheric links with those powers. You'd need to devise the ritual, and then keep it secret -- as I discuss at some length in my book Inside a Magical Lodge, initiatory secrecy isn't optional, it's one of the core elements of the entire process. You'd also need to work out a ritual to empower and maintain your current, and practice it regularly -- the Golden Dawn Equinox ritual is a good example. You'd need to have your initial group perform the initiation ritual on one another, circling through the roles so that everyone who will be performing the initiation has been initiated and also has experienced the initiation from each officers' perspective. Then you perform the ritual that inaugurates the initiatory order, and start bringing in members.
