Thank you for continuing the numerology series. In keeping with today's topic, I opened up the newly released Purdue translation of Agrippa's 3 Books of Occult Philosophy, looking up something else, and fortuitously landed on this quote from Chapter 21:
"A name change is also sometimes conducive (to this genius) because the qualities of names are indicators of themselves, just as a mirror declares the conditions of forms. It thus happens that changing a name often makes a change in the thing (to which the name refers). Hence, it is not without cause that the holy scriptures introduce God, while he blessed Abram and Jacob. He changed their names, calling one Abraham and the other Israel." Offhand, do you know what the hebraic numerology had to say about these name changes?
After calculating the different permutations of my legal name, I came to 4 different options: 1, 4, 8 and 11. The 4 and 11 are the ways I've generally presented myself, and those descriptions seem quite apt.
Funny enough, also looking back at my history, I was better known by 2 different nicknames in different periods of my life, both of which also ended up being 11's. Highly decisive and mutable periods.
What combinations of birthdate and name #'s do you see as particularly difficult? For example, I have a birth date # of 7 and can go by a name number of 4 or 11. In this system, it would read as "trying to obtain wisdom via reliable hard work" or "tryng to obtain wisdom by well informed, decisive actions at the appropriate times". These options both seem pretty compatible with the life destiny. Is that a correct interpretation?
One last thought. This series really seems reflective of your ongoing discussion on Eliphas Levi, especially in his disection of the tetragrammaton. As we're the reflection of God, as per Genesis, our birthdate # is the initial impetus, our name # as the free will given the bounds of our birth, our time # as the result of those two forces meeting leading to the experience of the personal year #. I'm sure you could also analogize each number Kabbalisticly as well, going from fire to earth following the same schema. A lot to chew on!
