I just purchased the King in Orange and am much enjoying the thoughtful discussions. When reading about the influence of the frog Kek, I can’t help but be reminded of the frog chorus in Aristophanes’ comedy play “The Frogs.” The frog chorus goes: brekekekex koax koax, incessantly, and they get into an argument with the protagonist Dionysus along the theme of the whole play, the quality of the literary culture and leadership of Athens at the time. It seems somewhat germane to the theme of your book and of public discourse, including the crudity of the humor in the play.
