Toward Ecosophy

There are a couple of details of Biden's proposed policies that suggest to me that somebody in his inner circle is paying attention to reality, and the protectionism is part of that. (I note also that his people are talking about relaunching a Civilian Conservation Corps analogue for ecological-restoration purposes, and making a big program to retrofit buildings for conservation central to his green-energy plan; weirdly, both of these things are things I've proposed repeatedly, as much as engines of job creation as for their environmental benefits.) If he goes ahead with that, that might explain the relatively mild consequences for ordinary Americans -- though it might also explain why his supporters among the rich and privileged will turn on him so savagely, as the chart predicts.
