The subject of ghosts came up on my blog and I was wondering whether peoples reactions to ghosts were different at points in the past than they are today? I became curious because one account described sisters trying to talk to a ghost at Borley Rectory, rather than running for their lives in fear (and inevitably becoming injured). The contrast was not lost on me! It is a bit like the reactions of one or two characters in certain Lovecraft novels, which you turned on its head in your own books!
