The pandemic has been scrubbed from the front pages at this point and replaced by a different hysteria du jour, but the semi-open posts I've hosted here on the Covid-19 narrative, the inadequately tested experimental drugs for it, and the whole cascading mess surrounding them have continued to field a steady stream of comments, so I'm opening yet another space for discussion. The rules are the same as before:

1. If you plan on parroting the party line of the medical industry and its paid shills, please go away. This is a place for people to talk openly, honestly, and freely about their concerns that the party line in question is dangerously flawed and that actions being pushed by the medical industry et al. are causing injury and death. It is not a place for you to dismiss those concerns. Anyone who wants to hear the official story and the arguments in favor of it can find those on hundreds of thousands of websites.

2. If you plan on insisting that the current situation is the result of a deliberate plot by some villainous group of people or other, please go away. There are tens of thousands of websites currently rehashing various conspiracy theories about the Covid-19 outbreak and the vaccines. This is not one of them. What we're exploring is the likelihood that what's going on is the product of the same arrogance, incompetence, and corruption that the medical industry and its tame politicians have displayed so abundantly in recent decades. That possibility deserves a space of its own for discussion, and that's what we're doing here.

3. If you plan on using rent-a-troll derailing or disruption tactics, please go away. I'm quite familiar with the standard tactics used by troll farms to disrupt online forums, and am ready, willing, and able -- and in fact quite eager -- to ban people permanently for engaging in them here. Oh, and I also lurk on other Covid-19 vaccine skeptic blogs, so I'm likely to notice when the same posts are showing up on more than one venue.

4. If you don't believe in treating people with common courtesy, please go away. I have, and enforce, a strict courtesy policy on my blogs and online forums, and this is no exception. The sort of schoolyard bullying that takes place on so many other internet forums will get you deleted and banned here. No, I don't care if you disagree with that: my journal, my rules.

With that said, as the vaccinated keep catching Covid (and many of them never quite seem to get over it) while the rest of us are fine, the floor is open for discussion.

pray tell, how so? Violet seemed not to dig the Devouring Mother hypothesis but you two seem to totally understand each other (like when you said she had too much mayonnaise)!

i think Violet thinks we're crazy over here in these parts.

but please do explain how you see it all, because i didn't get her take on the Devouring Mother, which finally makes soooo much sense to ME, a life long confused-as-hell VICTIM of the Devouring Mother.

I'm going to use caps because you do for EMPHASIS - and not to sound yelly ;-)

Violet DOES dig the Devouring Mother hypothesis. What she wrote was describing a DIFFERENT one. Sheridan's is simply ONE hypothesis. This is science, not scientism, right? ;-)

What she is saying, or more accurately, I am now saying that she is saying... is that the symbols people see NOW are specific forms of a general archetype which legimately exists, but does not get expressed in its complete form as itself; humans can only perceive it in specific, bounded (fragmentary) symbols (just like everything else we perceive). What symbols people see NOW predicts what ASPECT of the Devouring Mother is AT PLAY.

I will note that Violet did not go so far as to actually present her own hypothesis from specific goddess symbols. In that same essay.

Also, I don't think Sheridan's "hypothesis" is wrong, it's simply not a hypothesis. A hypothesis is PREDICTIVE: it tests forward. What he wrote is DESCRIPTIVE: it faces backwards.

[I will further note that I actually simply think that the majority, if not all, of the confusion people now have with this is that the word "devouring"; which describes an aspect mythologically, has been misapplied to the way Jungians mean an archetypal whole, which makes people think very sloppily about it. The way they do with most of what Jung wrote (/end rant).]

What Jung's patients saw THEN predicted what aspect was going to rise THEN. Wotan was the male aspect. There was a female aspect that they also dreamed of.

by the way your current story up on your own dreamwidth was incredible. it really is like we're born of fire some of us in particular.

i woke up at 3:30-something and thought about the other guy clinging to you and holding the cigarette up to you and then how the other later... just WOW. all of you. WOW.

i'm gonna have to go re-read Violet's writings to catch up to the conversation, no the KNOWLEDGE or awareness, you're offering me. / i'll have to return on this another time.

i find in it a code a key to Murmuration's reminder that "love" has something to do with this. and i mean love like the kind your friend had when he wrapped his body around yours and held the cigarette to your face.

then it was too much and they snapped back into The Dream.

it was another (like Kyle's) tale that had all the issues of today around covid vaxes and dying and pretending it's not happening. but you now are feral and have animal senses they ignore.

that's why i see the army of Lovers being the abused and discarded half dead and brought back alive ones. because when you come back Romance is real and super sharp and ...POSSIBLE. because we are living evidence incarnate.

you could say Everything is but i'm american and keep forgetting you're canadian because you're SO harper valley pta lady to me in energy and canada... that story... you're the same as us.

time for a new story.
